The mission of the SimpleFIN Bridge is to not exist. A bridge is something we use to get from where we are to where we want to be.

Where we are

Generally, banks do not let their users share their transaction data with third party apps in a secure, standardized way. Instead, you have to give your bank account credentials directly to third parties.

Where we want to be

We want to be in a world where banks let their users share their transaction data with third party apps without giving those apps your bank account credentials!

Bridging the gap

The SimpleFIN Bridge is the bridge between those two realities. It aspires to be the last third party app to which you'll ever have to give your bank account credentials.

How we define success

The SimpleFIN Bridge is a success when it is turned off because banks have implemented SimpleFIN themselves or a universal, better alternative.

We will succeed if

1. Developers build apps that consume the SimpleFIN protocol.
2. Users pester their banks to implement the SimpleFIN protocol.
